Awareness Days

Our Awareness-raising initiatives seek to enlighten and educate people about the dangers and consequences of using stimulants in all forms. Our intention is to influence people’s attitudes, their behaviour and beliefs towards living a life of voluntary abstinence.

Red Ribbon Weekend

Your personal involvement will help someone to stay drug-free. How to become involved.

Red Ribbon Weekend gives us the opportunity to be vocal and visible in our efforts to achieve a drug-free community.

World No-Tobacco Day

The aim of this event is to inform the public about the dangers of using tobacco and make them aware of the addiction.

Child Protection Week

Section 28(2) of the Constitution says that the “…best interests are of paramount importance in every matter concerning the child.” This week marks ADC’s active participation in reaching children who suffer the scourge of living in homes of alcohol and drug abuse.

International Day Against Drug Abuse & Trafficking

It aims to raise awareness and sensitise the community about the major problem that illicit and licit (over the counter) drugs present in our communities.

AUGUST

Breast Feeding Week

Awareness Campaign on the dangers of mothers drinking alcohol while breastfeeding and how it is transmitted to the baby in breastmilk.

National Sober

National Sober Day encourages us to live a Sober life and bring awareness to addiction. The day is to encourage people who drink alcohol every day to spend the day sober and celebrate those living in sobriety.
